Join us for Thursday Talks on Conservation Topics.

Lauren Buttle, Kress Fellow at Trinity College Library Conservation Department, will discuss the conservation of papyrus Egyptian Books of the Dead.

Mary Teehan, E-RIHS coordinator (Ireland) and Archaeology 2025 Strategy coordinator, will present The European Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS) - a new portal for conservation science. 

Open to all members. Non-members are very welcome €5

We will meet at the Science Centre reception, Birr Castle, County Offaly

Join us on a special tour of Birr Castle, a rare gem in the heart of Ireland, and see the castle through the eyes of the owners, Earl and Lady Rosse. By special arrangement, we will also explore the Demesne and St Brendans’s well. To make a full day of it the Courtyard café is available for coffee and lunch.

Entrance fee: €18
