Museum lighting: from theory to practice


ICRI and Trinity College Dublin Library are delighted to announce a one-day workshop with Dr David Saunders on Museum Lighting. The workshop is divided into five sessions: Light, radiation, human vision and colour; Light as an agent of damage to collections; Access versus conservation; The practicalities of lighting objects; Developing lighting policy and guidelines. 

Dr Saunders is an Honorary Research Fellow at the British Museum, where he was formerly Keeper of Conservation and Scientific Research. Prior to this he was a Principal Scientist in the Scientific Department of the National Gallery, London. He is presently researching and writing a book on lighting in museums, galleries and historic houses, which will be published by Getty Publications in 2019.
